NATO phonetic alphabet translator

Cool app.

I can’t remember how the heck I found this, but I remember I wanted to share it with you guys. Like the title suggests, this is a little web application that translates whatever word you type into its NATO phonetic alphabet equivalent.

How is this useful? Well, many clans in Warhawk are international, and its always cool to have international team names. Perhaps you could use this to form teams within your clan. Or, you could learn the NATO aplhabet and use it to communicate in-game.

You could assign each clan member a unique game ID. For example, if my name is Rommel Rico and I’m the 3rd member of a clan, my unique ID could be RR-3. In game, you could call “Romeo Romeo Three, attack the middle base.”

Well, the possibilities are endless. Check it out here.

How to use a lag switch…

This video does not say how to make a lag switch, so after much debate inside my head, I decided it was worth posting. The video shows how a lag switch can prevent you from taking damage in-game.

Now, honestly, cheating on video game can be fun. Up to this point, I love playing against 7 Zerg PCs and just spam marines with help of “Show me the money”. (Those of you that play Starcraft will get it.) Anyways, my point is that I understand how cheating can be fun. It’s fun to play God every now and then… AS LONG AS ITS SINGLE PLAYER!!!!

Cheating on multiplayer removes all purpose. You’re just wasting time. Don’t do it. To quote my british friends, you would be a “wanker” if you cheat. A wanker that is compensating for his small wanker by being a wanker on a video game.

So yeah, credits to raichuzaps for being a wanker. :P

Warhawk Strategy – ZNS – Badlands(Desert Warfare)

Players: 12 vs. 12

Summary:
- Capture the bases next to the middle first.
- Use the Tanks.
- Gain Air superiority.

Starting Moves:
- With so many Warhawks and Tanks, the starting moments are critical. Focus on capturing bases early on.
- From the start, whoever gets a Warhawk should get the TOW. Shoot it in the middle.
- Everyone else with a Warhawk should fly and capture the bases next to the middle, but DON’T GO FOR THE MIDDLE YET.
- If you get a Jeep, start capturing any bases you can find until you can get on a Tank.
- It is important that you fully utilize the advantage of this map: LOTS and LOTS of Tanks. Make sure the 4 Tanks in the home base are piloted and heading towards the enemy.
- Keep moving those tanks and Warhawks. Once you have control of the skies, take the middle.

Additional Details and Reasoning:
- The middle is nice, but if you raise the bases next to it you can neutralize it at level 1 or 2. You should do that. Besides, the middle always gets TOWed at the start of a match.
- Remember the Tanks. Even if the action is all the way in the middle, you want to respawn next to a Tank. A Tank can decimate troops and they can lower the middle relatively safely. Plus, they can neutralize enemy mines safely and effectively. USE THE TANKS!!!
- Obviously, Air Dominance is key. Remember the Warhawk spawn points in the hills.

Would you trade this Warhawk book for a Klondike bar?

Me want.

Ok, this is old, but over at Kotaku they have exclusive pics of the Warhawk press book. It’s simply stunning.

It’s “a mood-setting pleather pilot’s journal, complete with “classified” disc enclosure at the rear.”

Well, I could go on and on about how I want one, but in case you haven’t, you should check out the pictures here: http://kotaku.com/photogallery/warhawkbook/2465498

You want one too?

Warhawk Strategy – ZNS – Archipelago(Southern Islands)

Players: 6 vs. 6

Summary:
-Take base 1
-Pin their home at level 2

Starting moves:
-The defender should stay at home until it’s level 3, then go to base 2.
-Two people should go immediately to Base 1 and raise it as fast as possible. Less than two will be too slow, and more will be wasteful.
-The two best pilots should go grab weapons and focus on Dogfighting. Provide support for the players in Base 1.
-The remaining player should dogfight until the enemy base reaches Level 3, at which point he should land and lower it. We need to keep the enemy Home base at level 2 at all times.

Additional Details and Reasoning:
-More than likely, both home bases will be at lvl 3 and the middle bases at lvl 2.
-With so few bases, attacking their home is incredibly important. However, it can only be pinned down to level 2, so no use in lowering below that.
-Lowering their home at the start will create a distraction that should allow us to take Base 2.
-Base 1 is more important than Base 2 because it has the height advantage and is protected by small cliffs.
-This layout can be very competitive and it usually is determined by skill alone. It doesn’t have to be that way.

The Ultimate Pilots Video Thread by NandoBR

This is not about Frisbee.

As you may know, the PSU board is filled with players who are great pilots, and players who think they are great pilots (not me). As a result, the board used to be filled with Piloting videos that were incredible unorganized. Then NandoBR came along:

I decided to create this thread in order to organize all the pilot videos that have been and/or will be published on this forum. Dogfight battles on public/player servers, 1v1, flight mode/weapons demonstrations and tactics/tips are all welcome here.

If you want me to post your video here, please let me know the link, video title and the stats as the examples shown below. I will then create an entry for your videos.

Hopefully this will be a resource where new pilots will be able to learn tactics and choose their flying style.

NandoBR

It’s another great compilation that you should check it out, especially because I’m on the list. :)
